Linear has entered into a partnership with Finland’s largest advocacy organization for real estate professionals – the Federation of Real Estate Agency. The federation represents nearly 3,500 real estate professionals across the country and plays a key role in shaping industry practices, legislation, and professional standards. As part of the collaboration, responsibility for the standard document templates will gradually transition to the federation.
Linear has long recognized the importance of reliable, standardized documentation in the real estate sector. Properly structured templates help reduce the risk of legal ambiguity, protect both real estate agents and their clients, and ensure compliance with legal requirements. For this very reason, the original templates of the real estate software were developed by legal professionals specialized in real estate transactions.
In light of the sector's ongoing transformation, Linear has made a deliberate decision to focus its resources on the holistic development of its real estate software and on improving services. This strategic realignment has made formal collaboration with the federation a natural next step.
“We’ve been in close contact with the federation for years, and this partnership is the result of that ongoing dialogue. The timing is ideal – the real estate industry is undergoing significant changes, and we want to be part of shaping them, but not alone,” explains Miro Eriksson, CEO of Linear.
“As regulations evolve, the demands placed on documentation also grow. It’s increasingly difficult for platforms to keep up with legal changes on their own, so the involvement of the federation's legal committee is a logical step. Our goal is to ensure that real estate agents have everything they need to operate in line with laws, regulations, and best practices,” adds Tuomas Viljamaa, CEO of the Federation of Real Estate Agency.
“As a federation, we aim to collaborate with key industry players – and Linear is certainly one of them. New-generation companies like Linear are driving innovation in real estate software. It’s been inspiring to see how the company brings a forward-looking mindset and optimism to the field. Real estate agents are arguably among the most optimistic professionals in Finland – and they deserve the same from their system providers,” Viljamaa continues.
Over the years, Linear’s document templates have evolved based on extensive user feedback. These fine-tuned templates are not going away — instead, they will be harmonized and, when necessary, updated to reflect the federation's official forms.
“Sharing responsibilities benefits everyone — especially our customers. One of the most visible improvements will be expanded language support,” Eriksson notes.
This partnership, too, has been forged with Linear’s customers in mind. By partially delegating responsibility for templates to the federation, Linear frees up time and resources to focus on areas that are more closely tied to its core expertise. Beyond practical improvements, the benefits of this partnership are expected to be broad and long-term.
“One of the central roles of a federation is to influence the operational environment. In the bigger picture, it benefits not only the housing market but even the construction sector that we engage in close dialogue with system providers. Through Linear, we gain access to valuable feedback from realtors — insights we might not otherwise reach,” Viljamaa concludes.
